Orion's Belt

This two piece set allows you to hold galaxies in the palm of your hand, or rather, dangling from your ears and circling your neck! Beautiful lampwork beads purchased at a wonderful bead store in Nisswa, MN (artist unknown) for some reason brought to mind the tiny galaxy adorning the jeweler’s cat collar in Men in Black II, “The galaxy is on Orion’s Belt.” The little alien said, so what better name then Orion’s Belt? Irregular, handmade, lampwork beads cozened up to faceted iolite rondelles and Bali rounds hanging from sterling chain ending in a beautiful wrapped toggle clasp with matching earrings on Bali French hooks. Earrings measure 2.25 while the necklace measures 16.25.

Periwinkle blue Czech pressed butterflies with a slight iridescent wash applied to one side float between star cylinders in a matching blue with the same wash on one side. Spaced with carefully counted and alternating vintage blue seed beads and new gray seed beads with simple double drop matching earrings. The brilliance of Blackberry Beads shines in this gorgeous set! Donna’s creations glow like the sun in oranges, reds, and touches of pink, silver, white, yellow and black. I couldn’t take my eyes off of these babies! Adding to the shimmer are beautiful Swarovski crystals in hyacinth, sun and topaz along with sterling silver stardust beads attached to sterling silver chain with more Swarovski crystals linking chain and toggle. This full three-piece suite shows of the beads that got me hooked on handmade vintage beads! Bracelet, necklace and earrings sparkle with a kind of twisted rectangle of crackle glass made in Germany over 50 years ago. Beads have a glorious opalescent sheen to them and are shone to their icy advantage with vintage matte periwinkle seed beads and simple opalescent rounds to compliment the sheen coming from the focal beads. Winter's Frost

Up here in Minnesota, we have every season and sometimes they mingle with each other. These frosty leaves made me think of the late frosts we've gotten when newly unfolded leaves adorn the trees. Turned white with frost and glimmering in the dawn sun..... simple beauty. This set has frosty leaves with an opalescent sheen on one side swaying from individual branches. Leopard Tree

Luke came across these satiny wooden beads in a wonderful store up in Nisswa, Minnesota and we both fell in love with them. He got to pick out the beads, I chose the number and we designed the set together! Hand-carved wooden bicones with a leopard pattern mingle with smooth, curved wood noodles and sterling silver diamond cut rounds for a little sparkle. Strung on jewelry wire and hand knotted to supple Greek leather. More knot connect the leather to the silver rope toggle. Matching earrings are hand-wrapped wire on French hooks. Necklace measures just over of 17.5”, earrings 1.75”.

(sigh) I LOVE chokers... this one surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds. Every single crystal on here is on hand-wrapped sterling and was made by Swarovski over 50 years ago. Intricately assembled on four levels of jewelry wire lined with tri-cut gray with a shimmering opalescent sheen to them. The matching earrings are kept simple in a little cluster of crystals on more hand-wrapped sterling and French hooks. Choker is adjustable from 12” to 15”, earrings are just 1.25”.

Fall in Bloom

WOW! This suite turned out simply stunning! The artistry of Blackberry Beads mingling with the genius of 5fish Designs! Hand-shaped ‘rocks’ with mottled color derived from a special glass called raku that changes color with the techniques used by the artist. The colors and random shapes reminded me of something kind of funny. Back in elementary school, we did an art project one day that I had so much fun with I still remember details to this day. I think I even have the finished result still floating around somewhere…, Mom gave me a file of special projects, certificates and report cards a while back. ANYWAY! We chose and shaved crayons with our safety scissors over paper and melted it with a grocery bag and an iron on low heat. We then filled in the rest to create a picture. Autumn has always been my favorite season so I decided to make a forest of trees in all their autumn glory! Donna’s beads made me think of my crayon trees and I wanted to create a suite as rich as these beads deserve. I found some beautiful spacers on the 5fish Designs site that compliment Donna’s beads perfectly and are gorgeous in their own right! All these beads are coupled with loads of Swarovski crystals shooting fire and cool tones to blend with everything. Also accompanying is a large Bali focal cube, swirl beads and swirling Bali posts for the earrings. Loads more Bali spacers are sprinkled liberally throughout and the necklace incorporates sterling chain. Bracelet measures just over 8”, necklace just over 17”, earrings 1.25”. You have no idea how tempting it is to keep this all to myself! There's another picture of this particular suite on my home page!
